TIP 2. Messaging content

  1. Follow the practice of saying as little as possible, and as much as necessary.
  2. Break messaging into primary/secondary/tertiary (or optional).   Keep primary messages very small to provide the role of location identification,  detailed information can be presented as secondary/tertieary.
  3. Provide cautions and clues if it speeds or increases safety for the traveller.
Examples:   Texture changes (i.e., Carpet to tile); environment changes (ie, temperature, scent, sound); providing distance to next points (ie, 12 meters to restrooms); cautions (ie, obstacles that exist in locations that would not typically be expected.  This can include benches, tables, planters, statues, and more).
  4. Provide messaging in a consistent and predictable order.

TIP 3.  Languages

Please consider that BlindSquare is translated to many languages.  If the audience of interests include multilingual or language-of-preference, consider providing messaging to accomodate.
