Spare batteries can be ordered with the Beacons.  This is an cost-efficient way to acquire spares as:

1. The batteries will need to be replaced in approximately 2 years (depending on power/interval/power-saving settings this could be longer or shorter)
2. The batteries are have a low self-discharge rate and a long shelf life.  At room temperature the self-discharge rate is < 3% per year.
3. Spare beacons will not increase the price of shipping.
4. Payment can be made using any of several methods.  (where if you order batteries later, payment must be made by e-transfer).
